Collaborative History Resources

Anglo Saxon and Vikings History Resources to try out as they are, or tweak, or use as templates for your own activities!

Only the revised activities are on this new page. You can find many more resources on the old webpages but they do not always have pictures. We also have a lot of activities developed before the internet. If there is a demand we will revise them but you need to email us to ask us to do it!

Anglo Saxon Villages

A connect four game exploring the names of villages to decide whether their origins are Ancient British, Anglo Saxon or Viking. You may want to alter some of the names to fit your locality.

Anglo Saxon Crime and Punishment

Maybe you have committed a crime. Someone has lost an ear. Are you guilty? Can you find people who will swear you did not do it? Would you be prepared to suffer an ordeal? This simulation looks in some detail at the systems of Saxon law and is designed to provoke and develop discussion around the way in which laws can be devised, who and what they are designed to protect and whether they are fair.
