Geography Activities

We have not posted very many of our geography activities yet, but will try to add activities which encourage participation from teachers in different countries.

So far we can offer:

A snakes and ladders type game to help with map reading. Quicklook here and full activity here.

An activity which looks at the weather for KS2.

An activity which helps to clarify the difference between villages, towns and cities, and developing mapping skills by looking at the local park. These are designed with Years 1 and 2 in mind, but are easily adaptable to older students.

Looking at postcards from abroad to stimulate atlas work in KS1/2.

An activity for 9-12 year olds that looks at mapping leisure facilities with a secret glimpse of royal leisure activities.

Delivering services, selling and manufacturing in the Whitechapel Road: looking at change.

A tried and tested activity on fossils and tectonic plates.

Atlas work suitable for 7-10 year olds.

Work on industry for Year 7 up.
